Ammo Sock DIY
Ok guys and gals, here is my Ammo Sock DIY.  Sorry the photos are terrible.  They were taken indoors under low light with a cell phone.  I will try to retake the photos.  These were taken AFTER I had
finished the project, so that's why the parts are inconsistent.
This ammo sock is a quieter and more adjustable way to carry extra ammo during an airsoft game.  I plan to get a MOLLE ammo pouch to carry this ammo sock in during big airsoft operations that
require you to use more BBs than your mags can hold.  The BBs will not rattle anywhere near as loud as if you carry them in a BB bottle.
Total cost of this project... BB bottle I was going to throw away, $0.  Pair of socks from the dollar store (couldn't find OD green ones though), $1.  Total price, $1 and I still have an extra sock to make a
second ammo sock or a sock puppet.
Here goes....
First you'll need some supplies.
An empty BB bottle with feeder.
*The "High Density* brand bottle you get at Academy Sports & Outdoors works great because
the plastic is thicker and stronger than most other cheap brands.
A thin, yet strong sock.
A Something to cut with.
*The scissors weren't quite up to the task for cutting the bottle, so I used the saw from my
multi-tool and my knife.  Please be careful to not cut yourselves.  I am not responsible for any
   accidents.
A lighter or some kind of file or emery board.
What you need to do first is cut the top off the feeder bottle close to the threads, but leave enough
material to keep it strong.  You may want to do a better job than I did.  But this is not the one I
ended up using.  You can see how thin the plastic is.
Here you can see the difference in the plastic.  The one on the right is what I used.  The one on the
left is just so you can see what it should look like at this point.
When you unscrew the cut piece from the top, this is what it will look like.
Now you will need to insert your socks open side through bottom of your threaded bottle piece...
...and fold it over the outside of the threads.
I used a lighter to melt the rough and sharp edges, but you can use a file, emery board or whatever
else will work for you.  Be careful no matter what you decide to use.
Now you just screw the top back onto the threaded bottle piece over the sock.  You will want to load
your BBs into the sock first.  That's how you fill it.
Here is my finished ammo sock filled with over 2000 rounds.  You can adjust the size/capacity of the
sock by pulling it through more or less before you screw the cap on.
For a little extra spillage security, I like to pull enough material through to pull over the cap and tie
in a knot.  The ammo sock is WAY quieter than a BB bottle when running around.
